Sample Units Editor
Function Description: Manually checks and corrects sample units generated in Automatic Mode. Automatic detection can be affected by curb completeness, point cloud quality, and road geometry, resulting in shifted boundaries, missing coverage, or extra units. Delete and create operations can be used to reorganize the pavement area included in PCI calculation.
Input Conditions
The project should contain a "Sample Unit" layer before using this function. Use the point cloud, images, or other road boundary information to check whether sample units cover the actual pavement, especially at intersections, road-width transitions, and discontinuous curbs.
Operation Steps
1.Click Sample Units Editor to enter edit mode
2.Browse the "Sample Unit" layer and locate units with inaccurate boundaries or coverage
3.Delete: Click a sample unit to remove an incorrect or unnecessary area
4.Create from Trajectory Segments: Select a trajectory segment as prompted (deleting the incorrect sample unit at that location first), set the left and right widths so that the preview lines coincide with the correct sample unit boundaries, and click OK to generate the sample unit.
5.Draw: Draw a polygon along the actual pavement area and double-click to complete the new sample unit
Output Results
Edits directly update the "Sample Unit" layer. Subsequent PCI calculation uses the modified sample unit boundaries to summarize distress quantity and density.
Precautions
Sample unit boundaries should not contain obvious non-pavement areas or omit pavement areas that must be evaluated
After deleting or creating sample units, recalculate PCI. If a report has already been exported, export it again to synchronize the results
