Unroll Curved Section
Steps
1.Click the Unroll Curved Section button. The 3D window will default to 2D mode, and a section unfolding window will pop up. Additionally, the "Unroll Surface Section" button will lock other functionalities, and only manually lifting this button will exit this function and allow access to other functionalities. See the illustration below:

The parameter settings window will be displayed in the top left corner of the 3D window. See the illustration below:

Parameter Setting Page
Parameter Settings
- Buffer:Control the width of the section.
- Minimum Distance: The surface unfolding operates similarly to the differential curve unfolding method. This parameter sets the granularity of differentiation. It is disabled when unfolding polygonal or cylindrical sections and can only be adjusted when unfolding surfaces.
2.After completing the parameter settings, draw the surface that needs to be unfolded in the main window using the B-spline drawing method. Once the drawing is completed, double-click the left mouse button to perform the section unfolding operation. After the progress bar completes, the result of the section unfolding will be displayed in the section window, as shown in the illustration below:

The arrow at position 4 in the above image indicates the direction of observation for the unfolded section result. Button 1 allows setting the front or back view. Button 2 enables measurement operations on the unfolded result, as shown in the image.

Button 3 in the unfolded surface section result image allows saving the unfolded section result. You can choose to save the format as LiData format point cloud for further processing in LiDAR360MLS, or save it as Las format point cloud for further processing in third-party software. The saved point cloud will retain the attributes of the original point cloud.

Select the format for saving the result.

The saved LiData point cloud can be opened in LiDAR360MLS.

The saved Las point cloud can be opened in third-party software.
