Gaussian Reconstruction Cluster WorkFlow

Function Description:The traditional 3DGS pipeline operates on a single machine, with its bottlenecks lying in data I/O (reading tens of thousands of images) and iterative optimization computations. When dealing with extremely large datasets (such as city-scale reconstruction or large indoor scans), a single machine becomes insufficient, necessitating a distributed solution. By leveraging a cluster architecture for Gaussian reconstruction, massive amounts of image or video data can be efficiently and rapidly reconstructed into realistic 3D Gaussian scenes.

Steps:

1.Start the cluster nodes

Start the cluster master node, search for and select available cluster worker nodes. For specific steps, please refer to Cluster Computing.

2.Activate the cluster mode

Open the Gaussian Reconstruction interface. For specific steps, please refer to:

Switch to the parameters tab and check the Cluster Computing option under Calculation Method.

Reconstruction

If a "Search distribute node failed" message appears, please ensure that the master node successfully detected available engine nodes during the initial cluster node startup phase.

3.**Start Cluster Processing** Switch to the log page and click **Start** to initiate distributed Gaussian processing. (1)If a "Distribute engine performance information not retrieved" message appears, please check whether the master node has selected the available worker nodes.
Reconstruction

(2)If a "Distributed Engine Does Not Meet Gaussian Reconstruction Requirements" message appears, please refer to the IP addresses shown in the table, switch to the master node, and deselect the Engine nodes corresponding to those IPs.

4.Retry on Failure

During the cluster-based Gaussian reconstruction process, if a task fails, you can click the Retry button to resume computation from the failed step.

5.After the reconstruction is successful, the system will display a prompt window asking if you want to view the reconstruction results immediately. Clicking "Yes" will open the generated reconstruction model, allowing you to browse and validate the model.
