Delete output
When a model is run, output data is created for each process in the model (unless a process only modifies or passes through inputs). Because tools in the current model may be edited and run multiple times, the same tool can generate identical results repeatedly. Often, we are only concerned with the final output, and some intermediate results generated during model construction are not needed. To manage data effectively, these intermediate results can be deleted.
By default, if the workflow in a model detects existing output data when Validate or Run is clicked, validation will fail. In this case, you need to Delete Outputs and then revalidate.
Steps
- On the ModelBuilder tab, in the Run group, click Delete Outputs
to delete all outputs in the model.
When deleting outputs, if the data is mounted in the Catalog tree, the corresponding layers in the Catalog tree will also be removed.
