Meaning

The project or input is expected to contain a specific vector layer, but that layer is missing.

Common Causes

• The required layer was never created or imported, or was removed or renamed.
• The layer exists in the data source but has not been loaded into the current project.

Resolution Steps

1. Use the complete message to identify the required layer name and purpose.
2. Check both the project tree and the data source, including hidden or renamed layers.
3. Create or import the layer, or run the prerequisite tool that generates it, before retrying. Use 1013 for no selection, 1023 for an unsuitable selected layer, and 2042 for a missing database table.
