Universal Tree Segmentation

Function Overview

Universal Tree Segmentation divides the individual tree segmentation workflow into stem extraction and point cloud segmentation. The tool extracts stem points and seed points from the input point cloud, then performs crown growing to generate individual tree segmentation results.

Usage

Click ALS Forest > Segmentation > Universal Tree Segmentation to open the tool.

Parameter Settings

  • Input Data: Input point cloud data.

  • From Class: Source class used for processing.

  • Stem Class: Class assigned to extracted stem points.

  • Branch and Leaf Class: Class assigned to branch and leaf points.

  • Minimum Tree Height: Minimum tree height threshold for individual tree extraction.

  • Optimize Color Rendering for Individual Tree Segmentation Result: Optimize the display color of the segmentation result by tree ID.

  • Output Path: Folder used to save the segmentation result.

Output

The tool outputs point cloud data with individual tree segmentation results. The result can be checked with Check Point Cloud Segmentation Results.
